Her work has been influenced by drawings from the Italian Renaissance, by Edgar Degas, and by contemporary Australian artist Godwin Bradbeer.
Linda has won many awards for her work, which is held in the collections of the Bass Coast Shire, the City of Bright, Methodist ladies College, and Strathcona Girls School, and has been widely exhibited across eastern Australia, and overseas. Linda regularly exhibits with Metropolis Gallery in Geelong, and around Melbourne.
About Linda’s Classes
Linda’s class at Arts on Burgundy focuses on developing confidence and ease in your drawing skills through three main areas:
- The “Right Brain” approach to drawing, using simple and effective techniques to help you see more accurately, and draw what you see.
- Learning to use tonal rendering to express form in still life, the human figure, and landscape.
- Colour basics; learning how to use the colour wheel, and applying some simple rules of primary/secondary, warm/cool colour to create satisfying compositions.
Working in charcoal, pencil and coloured pastel or pencil, these techniques will give you more confidence in drawing, and also create a sound basis to advance your skills in other areas such as watercolour or oil painting.
